A few years back, there was a tv show airing on Fox called ''Almost Human''. I remember complaining about this futuristic cop show's use of transparent holographic screens that hovered high above the character's desks. Obviously, you couldn't talk to your mistress, stream Netflix, or sneak some porn on these things..
Not to mention the 'see thru aspect' of such a monitor. Reading a news site would be a headache. Well, looks like reality has caught up with us. I stumbled across this today, and...well...egads! 
While not holographic, some tech giant has come up with a transparent monitor to strain ours eyes on.
It'll only set you back $7200 US.
For home use, I can't really see this as desirable. Perhaps in showrooms, malls, or other special events/presentations...
