Sci Fi series reccommendations

Farscape definitely sounds like it's right up your alley.

You might want to check out "The 4400" as well.

Listen to this man! ^
4400 rocks. Also, JMS did a show called Jeremiah-pretty good but S2 is impossible to find.

Space:Above and Beyond is ok, military SF-and the entire series is under $30US. While flawed, it had its moments. Pancakes. That's all I'll say.

Stargate is light but a lot of fun. When it was good it was great. When it wasn't - it was still amusing.

Jericho was cool.

Batman Beyond(cartoon) was cool.

Alien Nation was fun-just don't take it too seriously. A buddy cop procedural with a neat twist.

S1 of the revised Dr. Who with Christopher Eggleston is amazing-and I dislike Dr Who in general.

Have fun and keep us up with what you watch.

I've decided to start Farscape S1, and will hopefully be able to get my hands on the rest of the series as I go.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (but you have to watch it pretty much from the beginning - and it's all available online for free on Fox.Com).

I'll second this. I'd also add 'Cowboy Bebop'.

I want to get caught up on TSCC (I watched all of S1 and the first 3 eps of S2), but wasn't sure if I could/should skip the episode 'Allison from Palmdale' (2x04). I tried to watch the episode back when it was new, but it didn't really pique my interest, and didn't seem like it was as good as the other episodes. Anybody have an opinion on whether or not I can skip this thing without adversely affecting my comprehension of the story for S2?

I thought this was an important episode regarding Cam's background-and it looked like it could have serious repercussions down the line. IMO.

Farscape = Win! :techman:

Others I might recommend to fit your taste are

Dr. Who for some crazy humor and good writing,
CharlieJade short and sweet like Firefly, less space more bladerunner/sliders style
Stargate Atlantis for that Trek feel unfortunately it jumps the shark pretty quick,
Jericho has that apocalyptic feel of BSG but without the angsty soap opera, although I'm not sure you can class Jericho as scifi

I've thought about watching Farscape before, but had a very hard time finding all of the episodes (I'm strapped for cash, so my ability to watch things depends on whether or not I can find them online).

Season one, at least, is available for free at Fancast.

Shame it's US only like Hulu or a lot of stuff on Joost. And to top it off: You get to see the advert and THEN you're told it's not available :D.

Two late seventies, early eighties series I loved were "V" and "The Martian Chronicles" Both were efforts that have stayed with me long after seeing them. Hardly the best acting or special effects in either, but a lot of heart and soul in both productions and well worth a look. Another series I'd reccommend would be Kolchak: The Night Stalker. Before Mulder and Sculley came along, Darin MacGavin was hunting monsters and conspiracies. The show wasn't always much more than a monster of the week, but MacGavin's performance as a tabloid hack hunting monsters no one believes in is a treat.

I've just begun re-watching the series myself, but I was lucky enough to snatch up all the Starburst DVDs before they went out of print (although five of the sets are the dreaded double-sided discs, unfortunately).

They've been discontinued?????!!!! Nooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!! Rats!!!! :klingon: I got all of the first season sets but I haven't had the money to pick up the rest! I love the show so far!!!

*sigh* Well, I hope they decide to re-release them.......sometime.

The first season of Earth: Final Conflict is one of my favorite seasons of TV ever, just make sure you lower your expectations a LOT if you watch the other seasons!
