In light of recent events, actor and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has announced that, at least temporarily, he will not be moving forward with any of his announced acting projects.

"Governor Schwarzenegger is focusing on personal matters," said a representative in an official statement, "and is not willing to commit to any production schedules or timelines. This includes 'Cry Macho,' The 'Terminator' franchise and other projects under consideration. We will resume discussions when Governor Schwarzenegger decides."

Cry Macho, an adaptation of the 1975 novel by N. Richard Nash, was being developed to star Schwarzenegger and would have been directed by N. Richard Nash. The fifth Terminator film would have been helmed by Fast Five's Justin Lin.

I can't say I'm surprised. Hopefully, this means Terminator 5 is finally dead.

I doubt that this "hold" will last long enough to affect Terminator or any other project to which money has been committed.

Frankly I don't care if Arnold returns to the big screen or not. "Terminator" is still going ahead no matter what he does. Megan Ellison didn't just pay a boat load of cash for the project to just sit on a shelf.

I hope this doesn't affect the new Terminator. I couldn't care less what he's done outside of acting. It's not the first time he's had scandals of this sort. Makes no difference to me.

I think you mean "acting" projects rather than acting projects. In fairness, CGI Arnie did manage to display a slightly wider range than the real thing.

Sure, it's just a question of who's willing to pile up cash in a vacant lot and set fire to it just to see it burn.

If they don't wait on Ahnuld it's a guaranteed fail. This will all be worked out.

Schwarzenegger is overrated both as a politician and an actor.

Apparently he cant keep his weiner in his pants either.

Normally I couldn't care less about celebrity scandals... but what gets me is that Maria Shriver was a reporter before she married Schwarzenegger, and yet she wasn't able to discover what was going on in her own home. Shades of Lois Lane.

Obviously not...I'm not defending Arnold's behavior at all, I'm merely taking issue with Christopher's comment that Maria should have known because she was a reporter. BTW...why was this even posted in SF/F? If it had to be here it could have been posted in the Terminator 5 thread...

Well, this has probably become old hat, but she wouldn't be a Kennedy without some scandal in her life.
