Schematics made with Vance's toolkit

Very, very cool, Sean! I like how you gave it enough significance that the Nimrod is more than just a historical footnote. Nice work! :techman:

I hope no one minds if I post a couple of designs that I've made with Vance's toolkit. Being a dabbler - at best - in computer graphics, Vance's toolkit is a real asset. These designs are ideas that I've been doodling at work for ages. The first is an early starship, from the Enterprise-era. Personally, I wish that the NX-01 had used more of the "primitive" designs that are found in the toolkit. The second is a TOS-era update of the design, executed on a much larger hull.

The more the merrier! Nice looking ship designs!

Thanks. Here's another design. This one has a back story: As tensions with the Klingons escalated, just prior to the episode Errand of Mercy, Star Fleet rushed into production a medium size craft made with off-the-shelf components that was cheap and easy to produce. Their plan was to use these ships to support the Constitution class cruisers in the event of war. Once war was prevented by the Organians, these ships were reconfigured as patrol craft or science/survey ships.

I like that Galactic Scooby, but I do have a question. In the front view you show the connecting dorsal between the primary and secondary hull. In the side view it doesn't appear to be there. Is the dorsal behind the nacelle pylons in the side view?

This is another of my late 21st century ship designs. This is a space-fighter carrier, which would have been in operation during the Earth-Kzin Wars. I'm still working on the design, so this is just a rough draft of sorts

And another 21st Century Earth ship. I was going for something a bit reminiscent of the Miranda-Class, which I've always seen as a "Light Cruiser." The design is likely a precursor of sorts to my Columbia-Class of the early 22nd Century.

thought I'd bung out a late tmp era ship for you guys

she's the u.s.s sussudio a cruiser based loosely on the Churchill class,
star fleet realizing that the excelsiors were going to take a long time to reach the fleet in any numbers and the Constitution class were beginning to show their age dusted off a recent design to replace the Connie's the sussudio class are heavier then their smaller Connie sisters with more weapons few were built as the constellation class were cheaper to build and were faster

Interesting design on that Ajax. One theory I had about the Reliant is that the navi-deflectors on the Reliant and Knox were stereo mini-units built into the front-ends of those topside pods.
