SCE/Corps of Engineers questions

I've been reading through the SCE/Corps of Engineers novellas and just finished "Failsafe" by David Mack. It stuck me that since "Wildfire" there has been a reference to the Galvan VI incident in every story. Now, I understand that for all of the characters it was a traumatic and for some life-changing event so it's understandable that there are ongoing repercussions for many stores afterwards. But that got me wondering about the timeframe for the Corps of Engineers. Is there any indications of when the stories take place relative to each other and relative to the rest of treklit? Also, are there other non-Corps of Engineers stores in which Corps of Engineers characters appear? I am aware of Nancy Conlon's role in the Voyager relaunch and Sonya Gomez's cameo in the fall, but is there anything else?

The first 60 eBooks take place from about the summer of 2376 to the early part of 2377. So it's a fairly short time frame. The remaining stories take place over several months, with Remembrance of Things Past taking place in the fall of 2377.

I feel weird posting this since you ran SCE and all, but minor correction; it started around the spring of 2376. Cold Fusion was between Avatar and Abyss, putting it in early April, and so the set of stories before Cold Fusion were likely through mid-to-late March.

^ You are correct. I misremembered Avatar as being in the fall, not the spring. Derp.

^Thanks. That explains why there are so many Dominion War aftermath stories beyond just the direct DS9 crossovers.

Because this is how I organise it in my brain (despite that the authors/editors resist it strenuously) I tend to think of SCE as running in three seasons. Belly of the Beast to Wildfire (parallel to DS9 s8, aka Avatar to Unity), Home Fires to Creative Couplings, and Small World to Remebrance of Things Past.

There are also a couple of SCE stories appearing in the anthologies Tales of the Dominion War and Tales From the Captain's Table.

As I recall, SCE characters and situations are referenced and/or appear briefly in the Destiny trilogy, A Singular Destiny, Articles of the Federation and Indistinguishable From Magic, as well as the aforementioned Peaceable Kingdoms.

I don't think I mentioned it at all in mine. It wasn't relevant. :)

Well, it's sort of the obvious thing -- the Quadrant has just been trashed, so let's clean it up!

I suspect if there were still an ongoing Corps of Engineers series, it would now be doing Destiny clean-up. Again, because fixing things after the Borg broke them is an obvious thing to do. :)

I suppose not. I did love the Invasion! reference, though. It's one of my favorite pre-Destiny crossovers :)

The crew of the Lovell from the 23rd Century flashback stories are recurring characters in the Vanguard books.
