It's unbelievable the lengths these scammers will go to if they think they've got you on the hook and are going to end up taking a fat wad of money off you.

That is one of my favourite sites in the whole web; some of these scam-baiters are really, really good at what they're doing and many of the stories are fun to read.

It's interesting what total amateurs these people are.
You'd have thought any half decent scammer would be able to spot it from a mile off when somebody is doing it to them, but this guy fell for a story that was WAY more far-fetched and unbelievable than the one he was trying to push himself.

Don't underestimate the power of greed. The same reasons why people fall for the scams apply to the scammers when they are baited.
Also, many of the scammers (not all of them) are quasi-illiterate non-educated petty criminals, who are street smart at best but often complete morons who would do anything for a buck. And that particular scambaiter is very skilled, the scammers are no match to someone like him.
