saw GREEN LANTERN!!!

There may already be a thread..but..

We saw it on X360 today..and it rocked!! Best of the recent DC movies by far. I hope they do another one. The voices were perfect, the animation awesome. It was movie like in its pacing. I mean,we all know that sinestro is bound to be bad, but one of the twists I didn't see coming because I dont read the comic book. But when the twist comes, my son and I were shocked...

Lots of Trek vets...what would a DC cartoon be with out Kurtwood Smith? This time as the BAD guy. The dude who was the administrator in TROUBLE OF TRIBBLES did a voice..as did John Larroquett.

We will buy it when it comes out on DVD in two weeks, but it was well worth the rental price on X360

TWO BIG THUMBS UP...Marvel may make the better movies, but this Green Lantern movie blows away the recent goofy Ironman release IMO...

Cant wait for the Lantern movie!! Get burnett to write it too!!!

I just read my OP..and by reading that you might think I didnt see it and said I did. Well..I did. But I dont want to say anything about the plot because there are a couple twists. If you want more info please send me a private PM.

I wanted to add, also, that the music is movie quality. I really think they finally got Sinestro right. Not to say that JLA or JLU or SUPERMAN THE ANIMATED SERIES didn't..but here, he actually looks like the Sinestro in the modern comics..

Bruce Timm does have a vocal cameo, which was cool. The only minus? The Weaponiers of Quard dont look how I remember them from the CRISIS. But maybe they look like this now...

Anyway..great movie!!!

Everyone had to many muscles.

and their suits looked like moulded bat armour.

They kept drawing the "camera" to Arisa.

Made me smirk.

I thought it seemed rushed. I disliked the portrayal of the Oans. They seemed like immature little men rather than the omniscient, wise beings from the comic books. Mind you its been a long time since I read them until recently.

I have always thought the Oans were idiots.

5 billion years and they're still sane?

The Lanterns treat them like Gods.

And I thought that was fine until I saw Star Trek 5.

Well, haven't they been shown to be that way? I saw them act like that in the comics, and even in couple times they showed up on Justice League cartoon. In fact, Star trek's own Q, a God like being, is shown to be a smug being as well, and often acts immature.

The Guardians have always been revered by their Green Lanterns...its only been Lanterns like Sinestro and the human members that have ever really challenged their authority or decisions. I agree that the Guardians pretty much acted immature, and silly, but I guess that is the cost of making an animated movie for a general audience. As much as I enjoyed it I do agree as well that it was rushed, seeing Sinestro becoming a yellow corps member.

When have they not been shown as immature? They act, IMO, no differently than Q or Trelane from Star Trek, and have acted that way for as long as I can remember. A few have been shown to be stoic; but I have an old Brave and Bold comic book from the late 70s, and the OANs in that issue act no different than these.

As for the cartoon seeming to be rushed? I think the pacing was just fine. I am glad they moved it along as they did because, to me, thats the best part of the cartoon. Bog it down with a bunch of backstory hooey and then, well, its would have been boring. My wife, my daughter, who are not Comic-book fans at all, liked it.

I guess it is much like TREK XI. TREK XI was geared for common fans, not the continuity driven fans who want every detail. This GREEN LANTERN scored big with the non-fans in my house, and for me, that is a good thing.

And..it is better than the boring Wonder Woman DVD earlier this year. And New Frontier, though I do like it, that DVD seemed rush far more than LANTERN did.
