I worked it out. But I did need to look up some more background information (based on not so subtle clues Jadzia dropped earlier on in the thread) before I could get close to even trying to work out an answer, as my maths-fu was below average.

And it did involve some initial deductions and simple algebra, then a lot of guesswork, trial and error from my part before I was told the shorter, relatively more incomprehensible, and mathematical way to solve it.

Well here's a clue. These are the governing equations, which you can deduce from the question:

(51c+35t)w = 19912; w>10

c,t,w are integers.

Break it into two simultaneous equations:

51c+35t = b (a linear diophantine equation... just like last weeks puzzle)
b.w = 19912 (product of integers... something about prime numbers relevant here???)
 
^^ That actually makes more sense than the working I used, which was ths same principle, but more muddled in organisation and terminology. (I used the variables "c" and "t" as well. ;))
