Sarek audio book

Someone named "Nick Sullivan" according to Audible. There's a sample on the Audible-page (linked in the first page).

I'm hoping for more. In case this is only a test balloon, I will of course buy it.

Wondering if someone knows if there's more coming, or this was an one-off (I would like some more if possible, please). There haven't (what I know) been any audio releases since the movie novelization, after all.

The link to all of Audible's S&SA ST audio is at:

http://www.audible.com/search?advsearchKeywords=Star+Trek

Looks like there's an unabridged version of "The Physics of Star Trek"(?), and they've accidentally listed one of their competitor's unabridged "Vulcan's Soul" volumes. And "Tea at Five" with Kate Mulgrew!

"Millennium #1" says unabridged, but the timing is for the regular abridged.

Yeah, I checked out the audiobooks before posting here, and I guess that that Millennium-book is mislabeled. I'm mostly curious if there have been any info about this anywhere I missed, or if it have been stealthly released for some reason. As you see if you sort in publication order, the latest one was the movie tie-in (in 2009). And they do have the older, abridged stuff, of course.

I really like unabridged audio books, and if S&S is planning more books I would be really, REALLY interested. Haven't found any info about that anywhere, though, so I felt I had to ask here.. :p

I really like unabridged audio books...

The three unabridged works from Recorded Books, of the "Vulcan's Soul" trilogy read by Stephen Poe, are at this Amazon link, in various formats:

Three "Captain Sulu" original audios are, of course, short but not abridged:

"Transformations: A Captain Sulu Adventure" by Dave Stern, performed by George Takei, Dana Ivey and Daniel Gerroll, 1994, 70 min. (3-D sound.)
"Cacophony: A Captain Sulu Adventure" by J.J. Molloy, performed by George Takei, Simon Jones, Maryann Plunkett, Lynne Thigpen and Lee Wilkof, 1994, 70 min. (3-D sound.)
"Envoy: A Captain Sulu Adventure" by L.A. Graf, performed by George Takei, Essene R., Jenifer Lewis, Nan Martin, Howard McGillan and Meredith Monk, 1995, 70 min. (3-D sound.)

My exhaustive list of all ST audio is at my blog:

Yep.

Seems the only thing to do is to buy "Sarek" and hope that it sells so that there will be more. I would really like some Peter David as audio books.

I think I will contact Audible and see if they have any insight in possible future titles.

Yes, but they are mostly old and abridged. There haven't been an audio release since 2009, which makes me hopeful for more now.

Audible had no info about further releases. I bought a copy and hope that there will be more if the demand is there.

Finished with the book. I'm glad I still like it as much as when I read it on dead trees a long time ago.

Ironically, the Sarek-part is the most uninteresting for me, I really like the Peter Kirk-storyline (nice to see another Kirk get the girl for once.. :p)...

There isn't any further books that pick up the Peter Kirk/Valdyr-thread?

Yeah, I checked that page myself before, but I was hoping they just missed something...

Oh, well.

Is there any chance this audiobook will ever be available on audio CD?

It is. Kind of. Not the 1984 abridged 180 min. one, narrated by Mark Lenard, but it was recently mentioned here that an unabridged one, read by Nick Sullivan (2012), was being offered as a downloadable file. Approx. 879 min.

As for all the older titles, wasn't Audible.com slowly releasing all the Simon and Schuster Audioworks backstock as downloadable files?

Meanwhile, second hand Mark Lenard versions are available on cassette tapes:

Actually, I'm not looking for a downloadable, DRM-infested copy from Audible.com or elsewhere, but rather an unabridged copy on DRM-free audio CDs.
