Sanctuary: Really happy I watched it all!

Apparently Christopher Heyerdahl (Biggie and Jack the Ripper) was in one or more of the Twilight movies. The show had an exchange of dialogue between Henry and Biggie about favorite characters. Biggie like Marcus. Was that Heyerdahl's role?

Yes, the science is ridiculous, but they have the elementary artistic judgment to keep from getting pompous about it. Taking Nonsense Seriously is an artistic sin that Sanctuary never commits. Yet they never demean the characters, another artistic sin committed by many competitors.

Watched the web series and liked it, but never watched the tv show.

Yeah was one of the few that actually paid money for it.

How different is the show from the Web Series and is it the same actors and did they continue from the Web series or just start over?

I paid too. Still have my copy on DVD.

The cast are the same for the most part, the web episodes are redone for the series proper. So it does follow on from then just after they've redone them.

I just saw Christopher Heyerdahl on Stargate Atlantis last night, he played a Wraith. He had Biggie's voice, LOL.

Anyone know why they got rid of Ashley?

I always suspected the suits thought that fanboys wouldn't think a Mom wasn't badass enough. And that Magnus' sexiness would get overshadowed by Ashley's. Female leads are always about the sex appeal, not the writing of the character or the talent of the actress. At least in the philistine view which honestly does seem to me to be the mandatory industry standard.

Very loosely a "SF" show...they have to disregard a lot of facts to fit into the whimsy of the series. My wife likes it and I follow along at times, but I prob wouldn't shed a tear if it were cancelled.

RAMA

I was doubtful about it at first but someone, I can't remember who, on this board told me it is actually very much a sci fi show not just about monsters. This meant I spent the first two seasons waiting for there to be an alien connection to it all revealed

To me it's a big comic book that works because of some excellent actors, never taking themselves too seriously and bringing in the story arcs.

I liked Ashley but I suspect the mother/daughter banter was bringing in a Gilmore Girls element that would have taken the show in a very different direction. It was briefly very intensely all about Magnus's family, her daughter, her ex-lover, the secret of him being the father AND having an evil past, Ashleys conflicted feelings about him. When they got rid of Ashley Magnus's story became more and more about her being quite alone.

Any word if there is going to be a Season 5 yet???? I am dying to know if it got renewed....

If there is a Season 5, it will only be 13 episodes, so, it's not quite as urgent to get a commitment right away, but, yea, we're closing in on the deadline needed in order to air around October, as usual.

Watched some of the first season, and really wanted to like it, especially since Amanda is nice to look at, but her (as I perceived) increasing since of self-importance as an actress started to grate at me. Gave up on it, but may catch it on Hulu as time goes on... Like the vibe WH13 sends out better, frankly.

Glad others here like it. Was beginning to feel in a real minority, even though thankfully other outlets for unalloyed worship with like-minded.

FYI-Amanda posted shots of her and what's his face, the young guy arriving in London. Do they shoot there?

I think they're in London for a convention and possibly promoting her charity Sanctuary for Kids
like most sci-fi shows they shoot in Vancouver

So it does actually become a good show? I gave up after a handful of episodes in the first season. But knowing that it gets better, I may give it another go.

I, too, got kinda "whatever" about watching the whole first season. The last two have been a lot of fun, though.

I agree the first season was a little boring but the last two seasons were pretty good. Which is why I hope they make another season
