"Samantha Who?" debutes tonight

Hi all,

just wanted to remind you that "Samantha Who?" debutes tonight (Monday, Oct. 15) on ABC - right after "Dancing with the Stars". As you know, Tim Russ is a regular on the show, he plays Frank, the doorman, and the pilot (which is what will be shown tonight) was directed by Robbie McNeill.

We know... Well I know nothing. So help a brother out and let us know what we should be getting in a buzz about? Hmm? 2 seconds of research tells me that Christina Applegate is not TV gold, when has she ever proved that she has star power? Sure her q rating is through the roof because every 12 year old boy in the world wanted to bang her 15 years ago...but I simply ADORE Jean Smart! Spark plug Whikety has been every where for the longest time... i just had a moment as I discovered who Jennifer Esposito is. THIS IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMAN IN THE WORLD! Until now I have always been too uselessly aroused to even be functional enough to figure out what her real name was. Good to know. All the hot girls are called Jennifer, what are the odds?

Melissa McCarthy. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

O. Thank god What about Brian has been canceled the advertising was getting really annoying. So what sort of odds do we give this show making it past sweeps?

Well, I caught the end of it, since it ran longer than Heroes....Tim Russ is lookin' old-ish.

Not as old as he looked in Live Free or Die Hard, though.

Just saw Samantha Who last night and i have to say that it's gonna be an interesting show. I'm not sure if i'll watch the whole series or not, but I thought it was kinda funny. It just wasn't as funny as i thought it would be. Tim Russ, IMO, is looking great(even older/wiser). He does look a little older, but as we all say, we all get older and wiser. He's also looking a little greyish around the temples but everyone ages and it doesn't bother me one bit. He still looks wonderful!

FYI: I caught Heroes last night as well and happened to come across Nichelle Nichols. Man, has she aged as well!!!!! But she still looks good. I like her character on the show. I think George Takei was on there for a while and his character was killed off or something, am I not correct? Anyway, just thought I would comment on seeing her.

Last I heard and from what I understand, the actress directs(and maybe co-creator?) of the show "My Boys" on TBS. It's a show about a woman sports writer and how most of her friends are men. The show also stars comedian Jim Gaffigan.

Bad luck to be going up against Heroes. Tim Russ can still pull in an audience from the pool of Trek fans...but not when he's up against Heroes. I don't even think Shatner on Boston Legal could pull scifi fans from Heroes.

Especially when HEROES is geared toward the sci-fi audience that's also Trek fans.

I guess I'm the only sci-fi fan who doesn't watch Heroes that much. However, I did catch the first ep of it when it aired and thought it had major potential in surviving a long time on TV. Plus, I liked Claire's character. And the dudes who can fly. Plus, Hiro. Anyway, I do try to watch Heroes whenever I can..I just can't remember when it comes on during the week.
Yeah, Samantha Who going up against Heroes isn't the best thing in the world cause Heroes has become very popular since it aired. I might have to netflix the series and watch it again...maybe I'll enjoy it? Who knows?

I really wish *this* show wasn't going up against it though...I think alot of people would be interested in seeing Tim Russ...but not if it means turning off Heroes.

"Samantha Who ?" did really well in the ratings. I personally got honked at NBC for a number of reasons last year so I ditched Heroes toward the end of last season. I thought SW was pretty funny and for the person ragging on Christina Applegate's tv street cred or whatever you must've missed her hysterical appearances on Friends. I didn't watch Married with Children but that was a hit show. I'd say she's got a record for comedic timing on sitcoms that goes back to her teenage years. For anybody who liked Gilmore Girls, the actress who plays Sookie, Melissa McCarthy, is on the show. I had no idea she and Jennifer Esposito would be such a fun sparring pair.

Tim was great and I hope we see him more. I thought Robbie's direction was terrific. Not going to lie I'd love for him to do like Nimoy, Frakes, and Shatner and get a crack at a ST film. If JJ can get the ball rolling again he might get the chance. The whole old-numbered-Trek curse could strike but if we pretend Star Trek: Insurrection never happened it's almost an even-numbered film.

regarding the complaint that it airs opposite "Heroes" - Samantha Who is online on the abc.com-website (for people living in the US, that is - but those are the ones that would have problems watching it because of "Heroes", right?).
