No I think we are talking about the same thing. I didn't think Nichelle Nicholls sucked in Star Trek but I didn't think she stood out much like you think the same about Saldana. If she's a decent actress then I'm sure she'll be adequate for the role - she doesn't need to steal the show.

I've liked her since her role in PotC, so I'm quite happy with this choice.

Now, what about the rest of the cast? I mean, principal photography starts in just a little over five weeks... And we don't have the lead character cast yet?

I've seen both as well as the movie with Bernie Mac and Ashton Cutcher, and "Terminal", and PoTC. Frankly, the young woman who played the Jamaican Vodoo priestess (in PoTC) showed way more than Zoe did. She (Zoe) came across as cute and likable in all the roles I saw her in.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for her and I congratulate her. But my question is, what is it the producers see in her that caused them to settle on her rather than any other young cute black female actor in H'wood. I can't tell from seeing her movies.
