Never heard of her before. That is a good thing. I've long advocated that for the recastings to work, they need to choose unknowns -- or at least, near-unknowns. Even Quinto is basically an unknown outside of Heroes.

Hopefully they'll continue this trend when it comes to casting Kirk. I really don't want to see an actor "with baggage" like Matt Damon be cast, otherwise everyone will be comparing his past roles with that of Kirk. They should follow the same formula Roddenberry followed and pick a guy who might have some minor film or TV guest star parts, perhaps a stage actor, and give us a blank slate to work with.

Certainly looks the part. I'm assuming that her acting is up to scratch too.

I too am glad that they're going for little known actors, rather than, eg Halle Berry/ Beyonce in Uhura's outfit. Can't wait to hear who's Kirk/ Bones/ Scotty/ Sulu.

I still think Kerry Washington was a better choice, but I'm not down on Zoe's selection. I would like to know if she had s real good audition or if someone just thought she was "right" for the role.

I have seen some movies she been in and while I didn't think she sucked in any of them, I also don't think she stood out.
