Saladin Class Primary Hull

Interesting. That fan comic I mentioned upthread might have been based on this; the doors are in the same place.

I don't buy a single-storey shuttlebay, though. I just don't think there's enough height. Am I wrong?

I'm not fan of the single-nacele design, but Starscape did a great job with his Starship Diligent, which he refers to as a "TOS Era Corvette". Note the landing pads for multiple shuttlescraft on the topside of the saucer's outer rim. I think that's very clever, and makes more sense than ENT's "bombay doors" on the underside of the NX-01.

Thanks, Wingsley!!

Here's a better pic of the model with some shuttle action. ;)

Oh and yeah, I changed the name... again. :alienblush:

Oh, how I would love to see a second nacelle added to that design, just above the navi-deflector pod...

Great work, Starscape!

I don't think it's a good location, myself. It's right over the deepest part of the concavity on the underside of the saucer. I don't think there's enough height for a shuttlebay.

Actually, there's just enough room. I've installed one in a destroyer conversion I'm doing of the big 1/350 refit.

Wow, Forbin, that's... that's... fantabulous!

(What are you doing with the secondary hull? :shifty:)

Forget the name of the ship now, but there's a 'thru-deck' that's basically two half-secondary hulls remounted together at the middle so you have a hangar in front and in back. This would, of course, leave Forbie with two forward secondary hulls and still an extra warp nacelle...
