Sabalom and Mel... Did they have a thing going on?

One second she's the Doctor's loyal companion, but the next she's running off with a greasy Delboy who 5 minutes earlier sold his entire crew into slavery for a bit of folding. That doesn't sound safe at all unless she had a little leverage like Glitz wanted to spend hours and hours kissing her?

(Ditto for Nyssa and the 8 foot tall Goat-man.)

There must have been some reason Sabalom didn't slit her open and sell the little red-heads pretty pink organs on the blackmarket if she planned on being a good girl, keeping her legs shut?

Maybe he cut her hair off and sold it for a fortune to a wig-making company?
 
Definitely one of the worst companion exits ever...even Leela made a trifle more sense!

Sorry, but I think she was the exact opposite of "class" ... shrill, annoying, moronic, yes .. but Mel having class? I don't think so.

Compared to Glitz? :cardie: In any event we know next to nothing about her since she wasn't properly introduced on theshow as a companion. All we know about her is that she's a
computer programmer from Pease Pottage.

Mel is a computer programmer from the 20th century who comes from the village of Pease Pottage in West Sussex, England. She has an eidetic memory, and a cheery, almost perky personality. She is a health enthusiast and a vegetarian, often encouraging the slightly portly Sixth Doctor to exercise more. Yeah she can scream but I wouldn't say she's not without some class especially next to Glitz who's like the Doctor Who version of Harry Mudd.
