In the beginning of this episode, the Enterprise speeds to a medical facility to treat a 9 year old boy who ate a fruit containing a lethal parasite. It's somewhat unclear where exactly this boy ate the fruit. His brother claimed it happened "in the forest behind the east arcade." That suggests that it could have happened on a planet, but it also could have happened in an arboretum.
In either case, does it strike anyone as odd that a recreational facility for children was placed so close to plantlife that is potentially deadly if ingested? I know this problem was only really created to give a sense of life-or-death to Data's takeover of the ship. Still, it bugs me that such a thing could occur. If anything, the arcade is at fault for allowing the boy to be exposed to the Cove Palm in the first place.
