When we were playing Trek as kids, I said I'm from the NCC-1701-D, and asked what ship my friend was from - the answer was: NCCC-1700-72.

I am amused by the fact that the Dauntless in VOY has the fake registry "NX-01-A" and though the episode was filmed two or three years before ENT nobody in Janeway's crew mutters: "Shouldn't this ship be named 'Enterprise,' then?"

Though in the days when Enterprise was considered the Great Evil, there were fans who whined that the ship/series should have been named Dauntless because of that Voyager episode.
