Shocko is fun but there's no beating Fry's original "shock."Or the version from the latest Matt Groening animated show...
I'm sure it's tied with everything going on with the Flux.So... is the TARDIS falling apart because the universe is starting to unravel, because Gallifrey/the Time Lords are gone (this time - seemingly - for good), or has the now-ancient antique clunker finally reached the end of the line?
Every time I think I've seen the lowest of the lows the right-wing press in the UK can sink to, they always seem to find a bit further to dig down.
You see, while you, I and everyone else with a functioning brain might have thought that Nadia Albina was cast as Dan's maybe-girlfriend Diane because she was the best person for the role, it was actually an insidious piece of left-wing propaganda.
Can you guess why?
This sums up my reaction to the episode pretty well. I did zone out at times (the fact I'd had a really long day didn't help) and the ep was rather incoherent, but for all that it wasn't unwatchable or anything. It's certainly good that the Timeless Child stuff (much as I still don't really know if I care for the concept or not) hasn't gone by the wayside. Hopefully something worthwhile will come of it.I can't quite tell If I enjoyed that or not. The Doctor and Yas dynamic was good, John Bishop was hilarious and there were a lot of mysteries set up, but damn there was so much thrown at the screen and I wonder if a lot of viewers might have zoned out.
Nice that they're following up on the Timeless Child rather than the Doctor just ignoring it.
Anyway, a mess but not an unenjoyable one.
Shut up with this sort of talk, though.*Unless of course Swarm is the Master

Before I watched the episode, I casually read some comments on twitter about how the big baddie in this is so scary and absolutely the best villain in all of ChibWho, and when I finished it, I was like.... wha?I'm hesitant to rank the episode just yet because nothing has had any payoff yet and that will determine my final opinion of it, similar to how The Impossible Astronaut/Day of the Moon are diminished by The Wedding of River Song.
Was I the only one who thought the alien make-up looked terrible? The sontarans were okay although still a step down from previous seasons, but Karvanista was nowhere near as good as the cat alien make-up from New Earth, and then Swarm looks like a Skeletor mask with some glittery lipstick. Which is a shame since I thought the actor gave a great creepy performance. I was just distracted by the mask the whole time.
I'd say the best villain of this era was the floaty finger guy from Can you Hear Me?. The idea of this guy who feeds on nightmares and who tricked the Doctor into doing what he wants I thought made for an excellent villain and I wish he'd been a recurring threat. Before I watched the episode, I casually read some comments on twitter about how the big baddie in this is so scary and absolutely the best villain in all of ChibWho, and when I finished it, I was like.... wha?
He literally is as scary as Tim Shaw. Only with a deformed right shoulder. That's it. Chibnall doesn't know how personalities work, it seems.
I would actually agree with that.I'd say the best villain of this era was the floaty finger guy from Can you Hear Me?. The idea of this guy who feeds on nightmares and who tricked the Doctor into doing what he wants I thought made for an excellent villain and I wish he'd been a recurring threat.
Which ones did they show and what do you think they might hint at? Curious as I don't know much of the older stuff yet.BBC America has chosen *very* interesting episodes to show today. I don't think they were chosen at random.![]()
Shit, and here I was thinking the ones who believe her arm is a plot point and a clue about what's really going on with Dan being seemingly special to the story were the ones being tone-deaf and ignorant.Every time I think I've seen the lowest of the lows the right-wing press in the UK can sink to, they always seem to find a bit further to dig down.

Dan as a character is puzzling. He's clearly TOO nice for his own good, the sort of guy who'll give a kidney to a friend of a friend on a whim. He's suffering at home but keyed in on making others feel better. I'd like to think there's something behind this sort of behavior to give him a good arc (will we have him in the final three episodes of the era?) but we'll have to see.
I'll get you that as soon as I can find a list. It's hard to find TV listings from 2 days ago!Which ones did they show and what do you think they might hint at? Curious as I don't know much of the older stuff yet.
Well, I bet there are at least 10 fanfics ft. mattress and/ or handcuffs up already! ;-)I'll get you that as soon as I can find a list. It's hard to find TV listings from 2 days ago!
I had trouble with the sound mix too and went to captions. However, where is my season of just the Doctor and Yaz!![]()
