A Canadien friend confirmed that it was real.
It was actually released a few hours before the preceding episode was released anywhere, which is an extremely rare phenomenon, and I think only the second time for Star Trek, after Argentina received episode five of this season of Discovery instead of episode three.
The seventh episode of Picard's first season was accidentally released a week early in Japan.
Prodigy's second season released early in France.
Have there been any other accidental early releases or leaks in Star Trek history?

The release of Prodigy S2 in France wasn't accidental or early. The channel in France was authorized to release the season by Paramount, as indeed everyone is. Netflix for some reason is instead choosing to sit on it.

I know, but it was earlier than the creators expected or intended and was the result of an older deal. France wasn't intended to stream the series before the rest of the world.
There's no good reason not to release it now, especially since anyone in the world can watch it for free with a VPN and read plot summaries if they can't understand French. Waiting months to release a show that's already available is just dumb.
