there is an add-on for the original game coming this autumn, which will go by the name of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat.
is a sequel and is supposed to take place after the events of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl.
Here are 6 new screens for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat that comes out in Q4 2009. Really gorgeous scenery!

The 2007 Game S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl
which was a sandbox that was Free non-linear exploration of 20 square miles of actual Chernobyl terrain
and had images that looked pretty realistic of the Pripyat/Chernobyl area

Prypiat, a city larger and closer to the power plant, had been built as home for the Chernobyl power-plant workers in northern Ukraine. After the April 1986 Chernobyl nuclear reactor disaster the residents of Pripyat were ordered to evacuate. The residents never returned, and the town remains uninhabited to this day.

They still haven't given a more definitive release date the Q4? Looks good and I'll pick it up when it's released.

Once I get a new mouse and possibly even a new Zboard keyboard I will try to finish the 1st STALKER (got to kill something called The Shorcher I think). Might get this or wait to play Clear Sky first not decided.

The first one is better than Clear Sky; better atmosphere and a significantly better story. Just my opinion though, of course.
 
I've only played the very start of S.T.A.L.K.E.R....took quite a while to even get past the first big fight in that farm complex. Eventually managed it by sneaking up on someone with a shotgun, knifing him in the back, and then retreating to a room with only one entrance and blasting people as they tried to enter. A conventional shoot-out using a pistol was completely impossible for me though.

Finish Stalker first. Clear sky is a prequel and not really as good. Call of Pripyat is set after Stalker:SoC.

It's got a steep learning curve to be sure, but once you've got some decent armour and a better weapon (the submachine gun is a pretty good early weapon) it becomes quite a bit easier, though you can still be caught out if you're not careful. At the beginning you want to thoroughly search the loners' village. There's quite a lot of med kits and bandages, not to mention some merc armour under one of the roofs.

Yeh its so hard at beginnig but now with all my gear I took out an entire army gear quite easy.
