S.S. Enterprise UEV-47

Yes there will be some physical switches on this ship. I have three styles I'm considering right now. The bottom row the switch is circular are the bottom but becomes oval at the top. The middle row has grooves in the cylindrical switch. The top row has rubber gaskets to provide grip on each switch. The centers switches are either on or off. The outside switches have either two active positions, or they are single pole double throw with an off position in the middle.

Hmm.. looks interesting, I like the old '70's switches they use in aircraft or on old synthesisers, almost indestructible.

Here's some more renders. It's been a while, but the project is not forgotten.

I've started blocking out the control panels on the bridge and I have a more refined version of the chairs.

Those chairs might look horribly uncomfortable, but they're not done yet. The hole in the back is actually where a CPLSS (Compact Personal Life Support System) will go. The rounded headrest is also a collapsible helmet. The uniforms the crew wear can double as emergency space suits. In an emergency or dangerous situation the crew will strap into the CPLSS, expand and attach the helmet, and then put on gloves stored in the armrests. That way, if there is ever a depressurization situation, the crew will be safe. The helmet and CPLSS can also detach from the chair frame so the crew can move around.

I'm still trying to get the holographic navigation table to work.

Sweet!
'Though I have to admit the default characters with their hands as is, look like they are panicking about something and it made me laugh lol

Yeah, I do need some better human stand-ins. But just pretend they forgot to put on their spacesuit uniforms and the ship is getting pummeled in the debris field of an orbital battle. That's why they are freaking out with one thumb pointed up and the other pointed down.

On the positve side, at least they're not Twerking.

I know it doesn't look like much, but this is the result of many hours of trying to get the particle system for my liquid droplet radiators to work. That's the slight haziness around the center. I've also blocked in the panel radiators which will deploy when under acceleration, at which time the liquid droplet system wouldn't function.

Please pardon the mess, drydock is a little cluttered.

I was thinking about the Liquid Droplet radiator and I think I found a better position for it. I was thinking about why the two rings would be the same thickness if only the front one had the radiator. If the rear one didn't need the droplet collector then it would be shorter. But it's not. So instead, by putting the emitter at the rear of the forward ring and the collector are the front of the aft ring, there is a rational reason why they would be the same thickness. There is a drawback though. Ring shaped radiators are less efficient because the inner surface radiates back onto itself. An advantage, though is that now the radiator can function while under forward acceleration. Additionally both this and the panel radiator systems can operate at the same time. All in all despite the drawback of the inefficiency I think this system is a better solution. I've illustrated the liquid droplet sheet with a purple cylinder.

I've gotten some final modelling done on the panel radiators.

Quite nice, as for the cooling system, sounds a little like a huge heatpipe construction. :mallory:

Now, I've noticed, the caps on some spray cans Lotrimin, some car air fresheners, have similar construction once taken apart.

This would have been a great ship to have seen on TOS, as the Kelvin ship--or the I.O.N ship from Spock's Brain.
I can see Scotty drooling at this ship.
