Ryan Reynolds IS Green Lantern

Wolverine was terrible, and Ryan had barely any lines for supposedly the merc with a Mouth. What a low down dirty shame that that movie made so much money.

Well, it didn't do the business the studio had hoped for - and more to the point, it didn't receive the kind of enthusiastic reception that gets big-budget sequels greenlighted. That depends on the reasonably well-founded belief on the part of the studio folk that audiences who saw a given film were so excited by it that they're eager for more and that such word of mouth can be used to build up a huge opening weekend for the sequel.

Which is why "Superman Returns," which did numbers similar to "Batman Begins," was ultimately considered a disappointment and not quickly set up for a sequel.

Anywho, thanks to "Wolverine's" tepid reception Reynolds would have to be daft to hold off on something like "Green Lantern" because of talk about a "Deadpool" movie.

Holy crap! That ninja guy with healing powers also has a magic ring! Talk about overpowered!:)

Truer words have never been spoken. :techman:

I would like to see what Justin Timberlake would do with a role that didn't involve outrageous comedy. Say what I might about him, the kid is very talented, and I think he could do very well as an actor given the right role opportunities.

I have a hard time seeing Ryan Reynolds doing anything other than Berg in Two Guys, A Girl, And a Pizza Place.

I thought he was already Deadpool? I find it hard to believe they are picking the same actor to play the lead for two superhero movies.
Different studios, different comic book companies.

Which is why I'm thinkin' that taken one role will cause him to lose the other.

Not a big fan of Green Lantern or Deadpool, so castin' him in either works for me...

I liked him in Black Snake Moan. That was a weird movie though.

LOL i just saw this from Geoff Johns facebook page and wow...this will be a good demonstration to see if Ryan can do serious as well as comedy because Hal is pretty mature and can be serious when the situation warrants it. I'm looking forward to the movie, wonder who they will cast as Sinestro?

^ It's true that often those who are strong comedic actors end up handling drama very well. I hope his performance pleases the fans. :)

Green Lantern isn't close to my favorite superhero, but more power to Reynolds. Hopefully the movie is entertaining.

You have to admit that one actor playing two different superheroes in the same year is really weird. Something seems off about this news.

That's why I think this probably kills any chance of a Deadpool movie with Ryan Reynolds in it. Marvel and DC are rival studios. I don't see one allowing one of its movies to be headlined by someone starring in a flick for the other. It is kind of wild that he gets this after having already played Deadpool. I don't think that's ever happened before, but Deadpool wasn't much more than a cameo, right?

Deadpool was technically important for the movie, but Reynolds' role wasn't all that important.

So no Ryan Reynolds for X-Men Origins: After Wolverine: Deadpool?

I know Hal used to sell CHILDRENS Toys door to door at one point after he got fired from the test pilot job for being far too unreliable because he was always saving the day as Green Lantern when he was supposed to be on the clock.

If Ryan Reynolds was selling toys door to door to desperate housewives? Well...

How the hell do you make a set up like that stand with a PG rating?

I always read Hal Jordan as some one who thought he was funny but never really tried for the laugh anyway, so never got proven he wasn't.

While I'm sad that this most likely puts the axe on a Deadpool movie, I'll gladly go see Reynolds in Green Lantern.
