Ryan Coogler to reboot "The X-Files"

I really don't like that, having her ever having been a true believer would completely destroy the whole dynamic, which is kind of one of the most important elements of the show. The whole idea is that you've got the hardcore true believer who instantly goes to the supernatural explanation instantly for everything, and hardcore scientist who's convinced that there's a scientific explanation for everything who knows nothing about any of the supernatural, and make her an ex-true believer would give her that extra bit of knowledge that would totally change the dynamic.
An interesting inversion of that dynamic was that while Scully demanded empirical proof about the existence of aliens, she was a devout Catholic. Conversely, Mulder was all in on aliens but didn't believe in creation myths.

They got to change up the dynamic somehow though so they aren't just copies of Mulder and Scully. The show will in essence need it's own style and voice.

The show can still have its own style and voice while maintaining the dynamic of a skeptic and believer teamed up. And again, we know next to nothing about this show at the moment, maybe wait until something significant is known before we panic and fret over whether it will be a copy or its own thing?

No, that's crazy talk. We can't have that around here!

Just to be clear, I'm just talking about my preference and what I would like to see, I'm not pretending to know what they're actually going to do.

But we can still have the same dynamic, and let the show have it's own voice and style by the just giving the characters their own personalities and styles and possibly backstories if they're new characters. But for me, the whole skeptic & believer dynamic is an absolute core part of The X-Files and it's one thing that any new show needs to have if it really wants to feel like The X-Files.
And on a side note, didn't they kind of flip the dynamic once Mulder was abducted and Skully was the believer while Doggett was the skeptic now? I've only seen one or two episodes after Mulder was abducted.

They did sort of flip it. Scully became more or a believer and Doggett was the skeptic. Then Reyes sort of replaced Scully and became kind of a believer as well.
