Rumour: We're getting a HD remaster of Resident Evil 4

I really want a remake of Code Veronica because I've finished 1,2,3,4 and 5 but never Code Veronica and my Dreamcast is a little fucked now ;).

Instant purchase this one. Complete no-brainer.

Now, c'mon Square, pull your fingers out with the Final Fantasy remaster already and let me die happy!

Boy, I might just buy Playstation Move to play it in HD and Wiimote control style.

Meh. Resident Evil 4 on the PC can be modded to the point that looks better than some/most of the screenshots I've seen. Although a HD remake of Veronica is going to happen apparently as well. :) One out of the two ain't bad.

RE5 was the first (and only) RE game I've ever played. I enjoyed it, so I'm curious about RE4 HD. Can someone compare RE4 to RE5?

RE4 is so much better than RE5 - and Code Veronica is actually a really good game too - both games on this collection are far superior to RE5.

Can you be more specific? Why is RE4 better than RE5? What are the differences between the two games.

lol - I can be more specific later tonight when I get home from work and don't have to type all the specifics into my phone.

Joystiq is saying these will be downloads in the US, on disc in Japan:

Capcom just announced that the two ports will be released as downloads in North America this fall -- as separate games, as opposed to the bundled release Capcom is planning for Japan.

I've never played Code Veronica. I'd be interested in checking it out.

And no mention of an EU release. Figures. Resident Evil: Directors Cut only appeared on the UK store yesterday, a good year or so after the US release. Guess I'll have to get RE4 HD through my US account. I'm not gonna hold my breath for Capcom to make it available over here.

Gameplay wise 5and 4 are pretty similar. Four lacks coop, which I loved about five. Personaly I had more fun with five but four was also awesome. Anyways, if you liked five you'll probably like four.

Four lacks coop, which I loved about five.

Which would have been fine, if it wasn't forced upon the player. I like co-op as much as the next gamer, but sometimes I just want a single player experience. RE5 removed that option by forcing an A.I partner on you for the single player game - a partner who was a fucking useless liability for a good 90% of the game.

It basically came across as Capcom saying "you will play co-op with a friend (or some useless numpty you meet online), or suffer through a frustrating SP experience". Thanks Capcom.

By all means, have co-op gameplay in a title, but let me choose whether I want to play it or not.

Meh, she didn't really bother me. I can see her being more of an annoyance on higher difficulty levels though.

Servo pretty much hit the nail on the head for me. The only use for the liability on legs was as a suitcase on legs for the shit you didn't need to use immediately. Just don't give her any health spray or ammo for guns she's carrying or she'll just piss through it as soon as she fucking can, needed or not.

I also didn't like the military aspect of it for some reason. It should be a survival horror, I wanted to feel more vulnerable while playing it and for some reason I never really did. It's a really subjective complaint, but there it is.

It's not a BAD game, I just don't think it was as good as some of the previous ones.
