Rumor: TNG to continue animated...

TNG as animated show...

There are whispers...in the dark.....on the internet...that TNG is to be continued as an animated show and that Patrick Stewart will sign on to reprise his role shortly.

I would actually love that! As long the animation style fits. I DO NOT want to see:

- Star Wars Clone Wars Style CGI...(which IMHO is pretty ugly)
- Funimation Style
- Any of those weird ugly Disney TV animation styles (Kim Possible..etc.)
- Anime (I love Anime...but I just think that style wouldn´t be appopriate)

Your thoughts?
 
As I posted elsewhere a few months ago, if they are going to do it, do it right:

Keeping fingers cautiously crossed. Hopefully, they can get the original actors back. Whether you like it or you don't, The animated TOS series works better because they had (mostly) the original actors.

Some kind of more realistic animation style would work best. No anime. Nothing overly cartoony.
 
I think this thread title needs fixing. There are absolutely no credible rumors about TNG going animated. These "reports" are nothing but blind conjecture.

That being said, I have no interest in animated shows, apart from Family Guy. And they already gave us animated TNG. So, I voted "Hell no!"
 
I'd watch for sure, the more original cast the better .
I still havent seen to many of the animated series, but Iv enjoyed the few Ive seen. I dont know enough about animation styles to comment on which would be best, just hope it looks good if it does come.
 
I hold no bias against it being animated, so long as it can be TNG the way it's supposed to be. Honestly, with it animated, they can reset the clock back to the 1701-D & get the whole cast back on board, to do more episodes of the show

Where's that from? Honestly, if they backed it up with solid CG type backgrounds, FX & whatnot, it's a good way to go

Anime is literally the most realistic form of animation, bar serious arthouse stuff that takes years. It’s not all big eyes and sailor outfits you know.

I like anime...and I like trek...but I don’t want an animated trek tbh. It took me years to accept TAS. The only ‘adult’ (in the way TNG was, not DSC) animation that really works as an ongoing series is usually anime, (try Knights of Sidonia if you want SF stuff) and even then, as a Crunchyroll subscriber of many years....I do not want an animated Star Trek. Not cgi, not hand-styled...nope. Just nope.
 
If they do this I want it in the style of Ping Pong the Animation, just imagine this with phasers

Well, not really. A rumor is implied to have come from an official source. The animated show is simply wishful thinking.
