Alabama had help from overseas? That's neat.
The official line seems to be that William had to apply for leave and was granted it, but he couldn't take consecutive weeks. He took a week off ahead of the wedding and will get a second week later for the honeymoon. Nice to know that even the queen's grandson can't always get what he wants from his commanding officer, right?
I'm not entirely certain of this, but one of William's commanders (current or former, I couldn't tell) was interviewed by Robin Roberts on the morning of the wedding and he said his squad was sending people to help with the search and rescue efforts in Alabama. It makes me wonder of William had to report to duty to cover for those colleagues who went overseas.
