Wow, she's damn good for half a century... 
I was trying to give her a break! That's why I asked for the opinions of others who have met her!
And I agree that conventions are probably hell for the people sitting behind the tables! Being where they are and who they are they can be "targets" for over enthusiastic fans, which I am sure can be very stressful!
Personally when I approach a personality I treat them as a person, with respect! The way I would expect someone to treat me upon a first meeting!
Over the last several years I have had the pleasure of meeting 30 regular cast members, 5 actors who had reoccurring roles and 19 guest stars! Plus a few hundred non Star Trek actors/actresses! Most have been very open and accommodating to me even when all I wanted to do was say hello and shake their hand! Basically, I have found I got back what I gave!
With that said I was just as open and friendly with her as with all the other personalities I have met! Obviously, if what you report is how she usually is and not a rare occurrence, then I met her on a "bad" day so I will endeavor to meet her again, if she comes back to this area!
