Roxann Dawson's Age

Exactly how old is Roxann Dawson? While VOYAGER was on the air, I read somewhere that she had been born in 1964. Now, I read on the "Wikipedia" page that she was born in 1958. Which is the truth?

imdb has her date of birth as 9/11/1958.
However, Robert Duncan McNeill was born in 1964.

I know that Robbie McNeill was born in November 1964. But I thought that Roxann Dawson had been born two years earlier. At least that is what the IMDB site had stated years ago.

If she was born in 1958 she would be 412 years old in 2370.

IMDB does from time to time make mistakes.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe they had posted that comedian Sinbad was dead. It was later proven after his daughter discovered it, that it was false.

I wouldn't call the statement irrational. Actresses seem to have a general phobia of letting their true age be known and go to great lengths to change or completely hide records of their official birth dates.

However old she is, Roxann is a lovely creature. :thumbsup:

As I look at it, it is a profile of women that supports a negative stereotype of women to lie about their age. Do women lie about their age they do, just as much as men. Having a greater stereotype (lie about age) of women to lie then men, the stereotype is not rational as it is based on a general profile not on solid facts.

I've just checked both IMDB and Wikipedia. Both give her birthday and September 11, 1958. I agree, she DOES look good for her age.

Then I would have to say that 1958 was a good year to be born and that only makes us 49! Believe me when I say she has aged a lot better then I!
I had the opportunity to meet her at a Comic Con in Novi Michigan a few years ago and to be honest I found her a bit stand offish!
I assume this was due to something that had put her off before I met her! A fanatical fan, a crappy hotel room...
So if anyone else has met her could you share your opinion? If I met her on a bad day then maybe, if she returns to this area, I could make an effort to met her again!

Since a number of sources place her earning her degree from Cal in 1980, I'd think the 1958 date much more likely.

And we are only now entering our prime so watch out!

We have only now gained enough wisdom to really start to live and enjoy ourselves, with many of lifes "little Problems" now out of the way.

Conventions can be very tiring and wearing on the individual behind the table. Give Roxann a break here (after all, who knows what was going on in her private life...at our age, just maybe...we've got families and *that time of life* to deal with! )

I attended an event Roxann was part of and she was wonderful with the fans. I'd give meeting her another try and greet her with a smile yourself. You might turn out to be her bright spot in an otherwise difficult day!
