Rotten Tomatoes suspends Comments after Dark Knight profanity, threats

Too bad many of these movie reviews that trashed Batman were generic and utterly cookie cutter copypastas of each other. Guess some people were butthurt when called on their laziness.

Shhh! Don't mention the fact that reviewers often just copy other reviews. You'll provoke the wrath of butthurt reviewer groupies.

Until later this year when the final Twilight comes out and next when when we finally have the Trek film with no name. ;)

I'm leaning toward The Wrath of Cumberbatch myself.

It's got a certain ring to it.

Nordling's review wasn't a rave, but it wasn't too bad. He stated it was more like BB than TDK. That news just got my blood pumping. I looooove Begins, whereas I just like TDK. I like the way that t Begins balances the fantastical with the quasi-realistic better than TDK did. It just felt more like the Batman comics. If what Nordling says is true I'm preparing myself to be blown away.

Whereas I found BB good, but overlong and somewhat nonsensical in places, whereas TDK was utterly fantastic !

I'm going to see Bats III tomorrow so we'll see how it goes...

Somebody is going to put a hit out on Harry Knowles. Yikes! I guess Warner Brothers didn't pay him enough for a positive review. If he honestly didn't like it though, that's cool. You've got to be a brave motherfucker to say you don't like one of THE sacred cows of 2012.

Wow. Sounds like he truly hated it.

Re: Rotten Tomatoes suspends Comments after Dark Knight profanity, thr

I'm leaving in 45 minutes for the Citrix event where after their 2hr presentation demo I'll be shown TDKR circa 2:30ish cst.

I find it hypocritical that if the first of these reviews had been positive, on any range, then chest thumping would be going on. As the Joker says, "No body gets upset when it goes according to the plan". These early reviews have not been overwhelming with praise, the plan is off track, so it's like one little thing goes wrong and everyone goes "Craaaazy".

My review in the review thread later tonight.

Re: Rotten Tomatoes suspends Comments after Dark Knight profanity, thr

I wouldn't say that things aren't going "according to plan". Overall, the reviews are pretty good.

These diehards, their plan was it would be flawless, beyond refuting on any point. As evidenced by their detachment from reality, with others who've actually viewed the film.

TDK was overlong as well. The kidnapping of Lau shouldn't have made it past the scripting stage. It was beautifully shot and acted and looks stunning on Blu-ray but it brings the movie to a dead halt for a miniscule plot point. TDK is a good movie but it is far from perfect and was replete with nonsense of it's own.

I certainly agree with that. It was a subplot that just ended abruptly and contributed nothing to the overall story, other than to showcase kewlies gadgets and stunt work.

Gawd it looks gorgeous though!

Yea, since Movie reviewing is subjective, and not an exact science, I can't imagine any movie getting 100% Glowing reveiws. If a movie did, that's when I would get suspicious that corruption was going on.

Heck around this board, I think the only thing I've ever sent 100% (Or very close to it) agreement on, is General Hammond is the best Stargate General.

DK isn't perfect either though and neither was BB. They definitely weren't beyond any criticism. The diehards must have already rejected our reality and substituted their own. :p

Re: Rotten Tomatoes suspends Comments after Dark Knight profanity, thr

I don't understand their issues with people who liked or loved the films but don't think they're flawless. I wasn't bashing TDK but I know somewhere some guy is pissing his pants and wishing I would grow a bat shaped brain tumah for my heresy. ;)

Re: Rotten Tomatoes suspends Comments after Dark Knight profanity, thr

The execution saves TDK from being dissected into pieces. So many problems here and there.

The Joker being able to hide a school bus in a whole group of busses, being able to rig entire buildings and ships with hundreds of explosive barrels, the Joker always thinking one step ahead, even being able to determine that Bruce Wayne would be able to piece a bullet together to get a finger print out of it to be able to trace down an appartment to be just there in time to stand in front of a window when the blinds are opened by a timer... errr...

Bruce storing a Batman suit in his tower? What does he need his hideout at the docks for?

The whole Joker at the party incident goes nowhere when Batman jumps after Rachel. What the fuck happened afterwards?

Wayne being able to mass produce the Bat Sonar, using it with everyone's current mobile phone (they didn't even have to buy new ones).

Etc...

I hope you've collected all the Jarod Russell voodoo dolls in the world or you're in deep trouble. ;)

You seem to have misinterpreted that scene. The purpose of the timer is to distract the sharpshooters, not to kill Wayne.

The purpose was both! Because the Joker is a mad genius!

Re: Rotten Tomatoes suspends Comments after Dark Knight profanity, thr

Change of plans. Boss altered them.
Pissed.

Re: Rotten Tomatoes suspends Comments after Dark Knight profanity, thr

The Dark Knight definitely has flaws but none of them bother me because I enjoy the other parts of the film so much. I imagine TDKR will be much the same as I suspect it'll be a little bloated although I'd be happy to be proven wrong.
