Ross was a giangtic doofus jackass.

What made the Unagi episode so funny is how Rachel and Phoebe mock him about his "ninja" skills and later on when he tries to ambush Monica she doesn't even break stride while taking out the trash :lol:

I love Friends.. last birthday i got the 10 season DVD box as a present from my "Friends" and was really happy.

I agree that the first 3-4 seasons were the best and then it kind of went down slowly but from time to time it really was funny again.

It was one of the best 90s comedys besides Mad about You perhaps..

Yeah I can't say I ever got into Friends.... all the characters were annoying, predictable and overall was just another waste of time sitcom that revolved around the predictable "who's gonna date who next and will Ross ever grow a pair?"

Who cares? I've got more excitment through my real life then what they brought to the table.

Then again, I also hated Everybody Loves Raymond and Seinfeld.... in fact, I hate pretty much all Sitcoms with a few exceptions.

Back to Friends, another thing I find pretty sad that keeps lingering from that show is Jennifer Aniston and her crap.

She hasn't done anything worthwhile since Friends, and yet she keeps getting her name out in the public by selling out her personal life to the tabloids, blabbering and moaning about how she can't land a guy, all of them toss her to the curb, cheat on her, decide to start a family behind her back with someone with more talent and better looks, etc. etc...... The fact that nobody seems to want to hang around her for more then 6 months..... maybe it's not them, but perhaps it's all to do with her.

Frankly who cares? Everybody has their relationship troubles, yet they don't feel a need to broadcast it for all the world to read about.... how about she actually does her damn job and act in something?

Oh that's right, nobody wants her for their shows or movies because she can't act and the only movies she can land are the low budget sap crap that nobody is willing to waste money on in the theatres and would probably rather just download.... if she's lucky.

*Gee Prax, tell us what you really think*

:P

Oh and if others like the show and/or the actors, to each their own, and I certainly won't think any less of you.... I'm just tossing my 10 cents in on the matter.

"This is ancient Earth's most foolish program! Why does Ross, the largest Friend, not simply eat the other five?"

"Perhaps they are saving that for sweeps."

"Exaulted leaders, the Earth messengers have arrived bearing a peace offering from their weak and fearful government."

"Oh, very well. This is a Joey-heavy episode anyway."

:D

Friends. Perhaps not a great series, but I could always count on it to provide me with some good laughs. And I could identify with all the characters in certain ways: Chandler because of his sarcasm and commitment-phobia, Ross because he's a geek, Joey because he's an actor (and I like to pretend to be one ;)), Phoebe because I'm also a little weird (come on, who here isn't?), Monica because I also have a little OCD when it comes to certain things (definitely not to her degree, though), and Rachel because... uh... all right, I can't really think of anything for Rachel, but I still liked her most of the time.

I will agree, though, that their particular character traits became more exaggerated as the series went on, to the point where they were almost caricatures of their former selves at times.

Is this from a show? What is it, so I can watch it? It sounds very funny.

Futurama,
baby. If you've never seen it, I heartily encourage you to give it a try -- it's gold. :D

It's so good it makes regular gold look like fool's gold, and fool's gold look like some kind of cheap, knockoff gold. :D

It's rather amusing that a lot of people have a least-favourite Friend - and that they're different ones for different reasons. Although it's probably telling that in most cases, it's based on the characters they became (ie, caricatures of themselves) rather than the characters they were to begin with. I still love the show, but the gang definitely devolved into Shtick Delivery Systems in the later seasons.

And for the record, Phoebe was the one I couldn't stand by the end. Malevolent termagant. :D

I remember someone summarizing it on tv once (for some reason I think it was Harlan Ellison on Politically Incorrect actually, but don't quote me on it), as saying Friends was a "soap opera with a laugh track". Which it was when you think about it.
On another note, a year ago I saw Matt LeBlanc on the roof of the Eastern building in LA during the american thanksgiving. He waved at us.

Its interesting that while the show was on I always used to rank the girls in order of how much I fancied them, and this usually came down to Lisa Kudrow or Courtney Cox swapping first place while Jennifer Aniston always finsihed third, yet these days for some reason I fancy Jen far more than the others!

I don't think I ever really hated any of the characters.
