Ron Tracy - The Aftermath

AtoZ

Commander
Red Shirt
It is open to conjecture what would have become of Ronald Tracy. Sulu arrested him and presumably he was beamed aboard and placed in the brig under watch. The journey to the nearest Starbase would have probably lasted a day or two, so what interaction would he have had with Kirk and company? Would there have been a hearing? Would Tracy have been contrite?

And of the transfer into the custody of the Starbase, presumably Tracy would have become enveloped in process and ultimately stripped of his commission. But what of the punishment? Breaking the PD, assault on Starfleet officers, murder, etc. What would have become of him, a man of his stature, in the months, years and decades thereafter?

Discuss.

Like I've said before, it's the murder of the Starfleet Lieutenant that cooks him. I truly think he could've successfully challenged the Prime Directive violation. The actual damage looks to be confined to one very small portion of the planet's overall surface.

FYI, there's at least one other thread that already debated this extensively...

Well, pronouncing sentence is based in no small part on precedent. If they could give Khan his own planet (despite his past and current crimes), well then it seems like anything is possible. I agree that the PD violation is arguable, but not the murder and attempted murder of fellow officers.

Ah well, he probably got sent to Tantalus V where he met Dr. Van Gelder; a man who bore an uncanny resemblance to him!

I like this response. It does not lack for fun.
