While I had hoped this was news for a new Hellboy movie (I really hope this happens sooner than later), this is an awesome story to read. I've always been a fan of Ron Perlman but this makes him all the more cooler.

Damn, I was hoping to see another Hellboy movie coming but given the performance of the second one I guess that's unlikely.

The "performance" factor (not sure what you meant by that Trekker since the second was well received and made money) has nothing to do with why there hasn't been a third movie. There are various other factors why it hasn't yet...and probably won't happen, but box office performance of 2 is not one of them. Mike Mingola has been quoted as saying that Del Toro has told him that he's never going to make the film and it is extremely unlikely that it will happen. Ron Perlman has stated that he'd bet that it wouldn't happen either.
