Romulan Questions

I was just curious about whether there are any books or other materials that follow "Nemesis" that deal with the fallout of Shinzon's coup against Romulus and his failed campaign against the Federation/Picard? Does "Countdown" (the "prequel" to Star Trek XI) reference the events of "Nemesis" at all? How long after Nemesis does "Countdown" take place?
Also, I've always wondered what happened to TNG-era characters like Tomalok, Sela, et al? I always thought it was interesting that the Romulans were used as the main villians in the last two movies but so far they seemed to have been rogues and not part of the RSE in general.
Did the Romulans ever re-form the Tal Shiar after their destruction in Season 3 of DS9?

One source is StarTrekonline, which has had a timeline for events-non-canon, of course, from Nemesis forward, and into the years around the time that the 'incident at Romulus' occurs. The events of 'Countdown' are as I understand it-and this is echoed by Spock-Prime via his meld with Young Jim in the new film-in 2387, about ten years after Nemesis.BTW, Sela is featured, last I saw, prominently in the STonline 'chronology of events', which is interesting, and detailed in its galactic political explanations....I've got my own fanfic ideas re she, Nemesis ,and her fate thereafter....Personally, as for the Tal Shiar, I have little doubt that they would reconstitute, and recoup. After all, those were warbirds under Shiar control, am I not right, gang, not necessarily crewed fully by operatives, though there'd have been some present. So, that would be more a morale loss, and a political blow to their aims, than a killing blow to the organization.

Alternatively, the line of novels from Pocket Books has explored the ongoing politics of the Romulans in the aftermath of "Nemesis", particularly in "Death in Winter", "Titan: Taking Wing" and its sequel "The Red King", "Articles of the Federation" and "A Singular Destiny" (plus the upcoming "The Rough Beasts of Empire") :)
