I'm coming up on what will be one year spent with my lovely girlfriend and I'm attempting to plan a little scenic weekend getaway for mid-may. I've been doing a lot of internet research but I thought asking for some personal testimonials/creative ideas here might help especially in keeping it all relatively inexpensive.
I'm seriously considering Washington Island but the May weather there isn't the best. Other options include B&Bs in door county (the WI dells are too close to where we went to college so I'm ruling those out) and Traverse City, MI.
Any thoughts?
