^ The Celestials are an EU thing. They're not canon and never were.
The old EU was canon before it wasn't. All it would take for the Celestials to become canon again would be a reference in a new-canon sourcebook or novel.
I was under the impression it didn't and didn't need to since it fired through hyperspace. Considering that it needs a Sun to power it's main weapon it's not going to move around much anyway. How the hell do they move Starkiller Base anyway?

I was under the impression that it's powered by a Star but it doesn't destroy the star in the process.
Finn says otherwise in the film.I was under the impression that it's powered by a Star but it doesn't destroy the star in the process.
Is there supposed to be a connection with the Force-enhancing Kaiburr Crystal from "Splinter of the Mind's Eye" or is it a coincidence of names? I don't read much SW literature.I suppose it depends on whether kyber is an element unto itself or some kind of natural compound. If it's the former then there may be something to it considering most known elements in our universe are formed either in the cores of high-mass stars or their eventual super-novae. Perhaps kyber is just such an element?
Short version: not a coincidence. Is there supposed to be a connection with the Force-enhancing Kaiburr Crystal from "Splinter of the Mind's Eye" or is it a coincidence of names? I don't read much SW literature.
