As for needing a Skywalker: well they didn't seem to bother even mentioning Luke in the TFA trailers IIRC.
They showed him ( thought it wasn't 100% clear it was him ) touching R2, and they used some of his dialogue from ROTJ.

Mark Hamill did narrate the trailer released in the spring 2015.As for needing a Skywalker: well they didn't seem to bother even mentioning Luke in the TFA trailers IIRC.
And?Yeah, but I'm guessing your father (if he's already a SW fan) has that wealth of memories created by those legendary OT characters, Luke and Vader at the top of the list. To many, you say "Star Wars" and they think of certain characters, and i'll just guess again that its not anyone from the PT or TFA.
Thinking back to all the games and other stories where the Death Star plans were stolen, I am surprised none of them have Vader in them (from what I remember), and not even thinking about it when playing or reading about them.
He does. He reviews the Dark Trooper project with the Imperial officer in charge.I'm almost positive Vader shows up at some point in the first Dark Forces (not as an in-game character, but in a cutscene or two).
But not in relation to the theft of the Death Star plans. The Dark Trooper Project taking place after the Death Star is destroyed. Nor do I recall him showing up for the theft or even delivery of the Death Star plans in the game X-wing.
Until they were stolen, would he need to be involved? He likely was overseeing the project itself, not wherever the plans were secured. After the delivery of the plans, he would be pursing Leia's ship, since they traced the transmission to Tantive IVBut not in relation to the theft of the Death Star plans. He also showed up in the 'X-Wing' cutscenes, which unlike his Dark Forces appearance did indeed relate to the theft of the Death Star plans.I'm almost positive Vader shows up at some point in the first Dark Forces (not as an in-game character, but in a cutscene or two).
Oh yeah, that's a clear, unbound kyber crystal. Very interesting."New" international trailer, which is as always the previous US trailer but with a few more new shots. Including Jyn recieving a necklace as a child, from what I asume is her mother. What this woman says and what the necklace looks like are interesting....
Another possibility, Luke's future crystal (he is Rogue Leader on Hoth)
