Rogers sucks

That's a shame. I downloaded about 28 GB worth of data yesterday. I'm glad there's still no cap here.

I'm curious...what are you downloading that adds up to 28 gigs in one day?

High Definition video, mostly, it's not an every day thing though. I just happened to download a lot yesterday. I average about 100-150 GB a month. I've cut back some.

With J, I'm going to guess it's mature content involving Furries ;)

Wha? Who, me?! No!

:D

Sadly my router's NVRAM got reset somehow, so I lost the logs on my record days. The day I decided I was going to give 'Chuck' a try was probably about 50GB of Bluray rips. I'm pretty sure that I've had a Usenet queue running nonstop for over a day, which on my connection would've been about 150GB over 24 hours.

I love having the connection I have. It's actually set to stop at 16 mbps, but because of my proximity to a trunk cable, it hauls ass down the pipeline at about 20-25, sometimes a little more.

Stealing? No. But I have been known to infringe upon a copyright or two in my day.

I'm sure I've clocked in 30GB of legit traffic in a day before. Heck, if I decide I want to install all my currently uninstalled Steam games, it would be a couple of hundred of gigabytes.

As things like OnLive launch, and stuff like Hulu has more and more HD, stupid caps are only going to hit 'normal' people more and more.

So are you guys stealing stuff?

No. I don't steal.

Yep. I watch my inbound/outbound data stream and always know how much bandwidth I'm pulling. I watch quite a bit of Hulu, Netflix, things like that. It's very easy to burn through a couple of gigs in a day.

Thankfully, Hulu and Netflix aren't available in Canada, so we don't have to worry about that. :)

On RogersOnDemand you can view just about all the TV content within 24-48 hours of the original airdate.

I re-watch all the Lost episodes this way :techman:

You can watch it on CTV.ca too.

I particularly liked the part where my uTorrent client ticked past 1TB uploaded. :)

Meh. I rarely run into my cap. I actually have to keep checking up on my ISP to make sure I'm not missing out on the latest cap increases. I'm not under contract so I can do whatever I like, but they're still perfectly happy to keep billing me for a plan they no longer offer.

Why would you bother if you're not capped?
