Robot of Sherwood censored

It was cut because of recent beheadings of westerners in the news. If any westerners had burned to death in a vat of molten gold, then that might have been cut too.

I'll point out flippant dialog about beheadings were left in, though, which makes the whole thing a bit odd.

I think the intention was good but they should/could have done a better job of it, or maybe just added a warning at the start.

I haven't seen the cut(sorry) footage but it strikes me that it might even have been played for laughs, which might have made it more inappropriate/ or not.

As usual the BBC were in a no win situation.
 
The episode worked fine without the beheading (I even say it worked better). Scenes and shots are edited out for many reasons and while the justification provided for doing so may be less than satisfying to some, I don't see where it hurt the actual final version in any way.
 
I didn't either because I didn't catch the line. Didn't hurt my enjoyment of the episode.
