Robitaille to be in the Hall of Fame.

This year Lucky Luc is being inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. Which makes me quite happy. As the highest scoring left winger in NHL history he is also one of the leagues most under rated, or at least has been.

It's good to see someone deserving being inducted...and for personal reasons it's kind of cool being able to say I have a family member in the Hall of Fame.

I don't know if someone with 600+ goals can be underrated - he was awesome, and I loved playing him in NHL '94!

This is a truly awesome HOF class this year, with Luc and Stevie Y, Hull and Leetch going in as well.

Congrats to them all!

Congratulations to your uncle Renee. There is no way Robi is underrated though. I think most hockey fans consider him as the one of the best left winger ever. He was a shoe-in for the hall and he is still the most popular hockey player in Southern California.

Eh, Ive met people who were 'big hockey fans' and had no idea who he was. Those people scare me.

Seriously, are these people your age? If so, I can understand that... If they're my age, then they're frakin' posers.

Ah, so that's who you were talking about in the lounge...

To be fair, he did play for the Kings for a huge chunk of his career....and nobody watches hockey in LA. :D

I'm glad he got a ring.

While Robitaille is certainly highly regarded for his achievements and his skill by most hockey fans well-versed in the sport, I would certainly agree that he has typically been underrated by fans in general. I think that part of the reason is because he played so many years in the relative obscurity of the Kings (with the exception of the Gretzky years... but in those years, he really played in the shadow of the Great One). It's similar to the fate of Marcel Dionne who had five consecutive fifty goal and hundred point seasons for the Kings in the 80s... one of the greatest players of all time, yet you hardly hear him mentioned in 'lists'... The other reason is because he was always regarded behind the 'greats' of his era... Gretzky, Lemieux, Hull, Yzerman... they were the more glamorous players, if you will.

Personally, I've always LOVED Lucky Luc... I was really happy to see him lift the Cup with Detroit. That was a great moment. His spot in the HHOF is well deserved. In my opinion, he is certainly the best left-winger to have played the game so far.

Yzerman is the greatest player in the world. I love him so much <3

Anyways, good on Robitaille but I was never a fan. Stevie Y is where it's at, baby.

Holy Crap! I must have been sleeping under a rock for the past week and a half because I just found out about this today.

He definitely earned it. I think he still holds the single season record for points by a left winger. But the guy was an assist machine. That's something that I think tends t go under appreciated.

Well, yeah...

I've only ever owned one replica sweater. It was red and had the number 19 on it.

Those people aren't hockey fans, obviously. He was a force. I remember his brief stint with my team (the Penguins) and he was awesome. Congrats to Lucky Luc!
