Robin Williams dead at the age of 63

Don't pass up the notion to check out Popeye. Not critically acclaimed (like that matters), but Williams amazingly embodied a cartoon character like no one I've never seen.

Just a thought regarding his overall uniqueness: if they were to make a movie about the life of Robin Williams, just who the hell would be able to play him?!

Rest peacefully, Sir.

I literally haven't watched Popeye in 30 years.

I just bought it on Amazon streaming, will give it a watch this weekend.

I imagine that they'll be a few million people doing that this weekend. And I'll be right there with them.

When my mom was going through chemotherapy after her mastectomy in the late 1990s it was watching Ms. Doubtfire and Liar Liar that kept her spirits high and bright.

RIP

I'll always remember how I first saw Mrs. Doubtfire in Germany.

Has anyone seen anything on the Flix channel? Dead Poets Society is on that channel this weekend and I set it up to record, but I was wondering if they play commercials. Also, I put Birdcage and The Fisher King in my queue for Netflix so I'll probably get to those eventually. I'm a little surprised on the Williams' films I have not seen. Good Morning Vietnam was another one.

Was just up at my local movie store and they were showing Hook. Started to tear up a bit :(. Tried to find some funny Robin Willams movies with no luck.

Flix is a commercial free channel.

Is Ms. Doubtfire even a property begging for another installment? Was there anything from the first one left unanswered? A dangling plot thread we needed to revisit?

I doubt it. Would have just been another opportunity to have Robin in drag again for some reason...

We didn't really need Sister Act 2 back in the day either...

Same thing, just more time in between.

You know, I was surprised when I heard first about this, but it's taken me a couple days to really digest this awfulness, and truly appreciate the powerful loss that's happened here.. I've been thinking all day about what Billy Crystal & Whoopi Goldberg have had to say about it. I can remember a time when that trio were the global ambassadors of comedy. That right there, folks, is a legacy

Frankly, this loss made the entirety of life on Earth a little sadder, evermore
