Robin Williams dead at the age of 63

I think it's a fitting legacy that Robin will always be remembered as a legend. And it's something he would be proud of.

The final scene of The World According to Garp, the best Robin Williams movie in my opinion, is very moving to watch and an appropriate tribute to his life and work. You can see it here.

Robin Williams has always been an inspiration to me, one of the most amazing improv artists ever to walk this earth. Despite the pain he suffered, he brought joy to the world. I hope he has found peace.

We'll miss you Robin.

The sequence from Mrs Doubtfire set to 'Dude Looks Like A Lady', especially with the vacuum cleaner. That sticks with me and still makes me smile.

Maybe is isn't appropriate, but if I had the chance I would have said this to him, and I'd say it to you out there who battle depression as well:

There are people who care for you and about you. You are integrated into their lives in ways you can't fathom. Your leaving would cause them immense hurt, so much more than you staying. So, my friend, you cannot go. You are condemned to live. You are condemned to life. And it might not get easier, but once you accept that, you will cope better, and there will be moments of joy along the way. Make the most of them, and what you have.

This was the front page of Huffington Post tonight:

OMG. This is so sudden. This is really depressing news. :(:weep:. I am really lost for words here.

Despite the thrashing it received, I actually liked The Crazy Ones and was disappointed it got canceled. Williams seemed liked he in his element on that show.

Thank you.

Along with my partner, apparently we were the only three people in the world who enjoyed it.

I can never understand how intelligent stuff like that gets cancelled while shit like that Mike and Molly or whatever goes on and on.

Wait, I think I just answered my own question.

Sorry but as someone who has battled depression over the years, at best that wouldn't make a difference. At worst it's selfish to ask the person to linger whilst in immense pain.

And yes, I understand the irony in that taking your life is depriving loved ones of your presence but if you've never suffered prolonged, debilitating depression(not talking the blues, Seasonal Associative Disorder or just having a bad day/week), you will never understand.

It's not fair or right, it just is.

Dang it! Feels like he's left us too soon. This took a long time to sink in. I think what makes this hard to swallow is the fact that he's always been exuberant, never showing any sign that something was wrong, and always gave it his all. Hearing about it being a suicide paints a contrast to the image we've all had of him. I'm sorry it had to be that. :(

Robin, thank you for the memories. You will be missed.

I woke up to this terrible news. Rest in peace, Robin Williams. :(

"O Captain! my Captain! our fearful trip is done."
