Robert Justman, RIP

Anyone want to join me in having a statue of Justman cast as his monument? I propose a full body statue, with crossed arms and his feet in the attitude as if he were tapping his toes impatiently -- and the plinth for the statue would be a replica of Rodenberry's desk. ;)

RIP, Bob. We'll miss you.

I am kind of afraid to come to this forum now. It seems like every time I come here there is news of one of Trek stalwarts passing away.

RIP Bob Justman. Thanks for all the great work on both TOS & TNG.

One of the many things that suck about getting older is watching all your heroes die. Make no mistake, Robert Justman was truly a hero for Star Trek. Most everone involved with the production has attested to the fact that he put his heart and soul into that show. Also, as anyone who read "Inside Star Trek" knows, he seemed to be a straight shooter with a keen wit. I'm sad to see him go.

He made up a good part of the soul of Trek. More importantly, while I didn't know him personally, he seemed to be a good guy and pretty clever. RIP.

After Coon, Roddenberry, Marc Daniels, Bill Theiss, Matt Jeffries, Joe Pevney and Sandy Courage, the only two major talents left on Trek's original senior production crew are HerbSolow and D.C. Fontana. May they yet live long and prosper as the last of the "Old Ones". The Ones who made it all happen in the beginning ... RIP Mr. Justman. You were truly an inspiration to me, growing up with a dream ...

Returning (briefly) to the forum to express my best wishes to his friends and family and appreaciation for his once overlooked but clearly massive contribution to TOS.

:(
So sad.

Thanks for everything Bob. Meeting you and chatting with you was the highlight of my 25 years of Trekking. Such a great guy - thanks for everything you gave us.

I find it interesting that the characters of the men -- Roddenberry and Justman -- were so different. Roddenberry has a legacy of douchebaggery, but no one says bad stuff about Justman.

Justman was, I think, one of the examples that you *can* be a producer in Hollywood without F-ing people over all the time and hogging the glory.
