Now the wackiness begins...who is this guy? Is there any reason to believe he can act worth a damn? From his imdb page, I'd say he bears an unfortunate resemblance to a toad.

Or perhaps Mr. Toad is a different Robbie Williams? At least Toad-Boy has an acting resume...or something...what the hell is all that crap...

Quinto's casting has really upped the ante. I haven't thought about it before, but Kirk now MUST be played by a pretty talented actor with a lot of sex appeal just not to be overshadowed by his co-star. I really doubt some guy who's never even acted is a serious contender for this role. Abrams showed he has some smarts with casting Spock, is he really going to utterly blow it with Kirk?

Never heard of the guy till this thread. But lots of people have never heard of Quinto. Abrams already has signalled he isn't casting the roles for notoriety - we'd have Damon and Brody if that were the case. He's going for quality. Doesn't sound like Toady is it.
