Robbie Greenberger

My condolences to all who knew Robbie.

Just recently (the end of July) I lost a dear friend and former colleague to colon cancer after a three years of fighting it. This is not a fun time for anyone.

Rest in peace, Robbie.

Bob is one of the sweetest people I know, and I can't stop thinking about him and his family. I wish I'd gotten to know Robbie as many of you had the opportunity to do.

As a parent, I can't imagine the hell of losing a child. :(

Sincere condolences to the Greenberger family.

Just a quick note to say we're off to the wake right now, and we're bringing a printout of this thread so the family can see it.

Thank you everyone.

^ I actually went a little further with it, printing out this thread, as well as the blog entries and comments in my own blog, TerriO's, and Peter David's.

Thanks for passing on our condolences. I did not know Robbie but have been reading Bob's blog for the past 10 months and felt like I did. It is such a waste to lose someone so young.

I always ask myself why to bad things happen to good people and good things to bad people. We're not meant to know only that G-D works in mysterious ways and everything he does has a reason behind it.

"You know, I used to think it was awful that life was so unfair. Then I thought, wouldn't it be much worse if life were fair, and all the terrible things that happen to us come because we actually deserve them? So, now I take great comfort in the general hostility and unfairness of the universe." -- Marcus to Franklin in Babylon 5:"A Late Delivery from Avalon"

I don`t think there is any comforting answer. Certainly not when awful things happen to you.

Hope Bob and family are holding up OK. Thanks to Keith and Terri for showing Bob all the posts on both this BBS and also on the other blogs. I hope that helped Bob and family know that they are not alone and that there are lots of us out here that are keeping them in our thoughts. Shore Leave and FarPoint won't be the same without Robbie's enthusiasm and sense of humor. He will be dearly missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.

Thank you, one and all for your thoughts and condolences. Deb, Kate, and I are holding on. We have been richly supported by friends and family. The wake had an astonishing turnout as did the funeral.

Friends and family have all returned home and Kate goes back to Maryland today. It's just me and Deb now and the adjustment will be hard but we will endure.

It's tough to lose a loved one. Especially one so close. My condolences and I hope all will be well someday.
