News Robbie Coltrane, "Hagrid" of the Harry Potter films has passed at age 72

:(
How very sad! I loved him in Cracker, Mona Lisa, Defense of the Realm and Harry Potter. Another show that hardly anyone in the US watched (just me, apparently) was a great travel show called "Robbie Coltrane's B Road Britain." He just came across as so charming and funny. I was just thinking about him the other day and wondering what he was filming now.

Rest in peace, sir.

Not a Harry Potter guy, but I LOVED him in Cracker (amazing series!) and as Zukovsky in the Bond movies.

"I'll call security ... and congratulate them."

RIP, Fitz.

Along with everything else mentioned (although I still need to watch Cracked), I loved him in Blackadder, especially as the Spirit of Christmas (there was only one) in Blackadder's Christmas Carol. Best non-Muppet, non-Carol Kane Spirit of Christmas! :D

Rest in peace, Robbie Coltrane. :(

Very sad to hear this news, he was fantastic as Hagrid, and did a lot of other great roles over the years.
This quote has been making the rounds today, and I won't deny it does get me a little choked up. Hagrid was always one of my favorite Harry Potter characters, and he was absolutely fantastic in the role.

He and Eric Idle were hilarious in Nuns on the Run.
He also had a small part on the US show Frasier. He played one of Daphne's brothers.
The one that was hit on the head and only his family could understand him.
A big man with a big heart.
He will be missed.
R.I.P.

Coincidentally, a couple of YouTube reaction channels watched "Krull" for the first time just in the last week or so, and there's Robbie Coltrane alongside Liam Neeson in one of their first onscreen appearances.

That's where I first saw him, followed by "Nuns on the Run" and "Cracker".
