River Song and Captain Jack

If Jack had appeared as one of the Doctor's comrades in AGMGTW, would the Doc have also called on him to collect some sort of a debt as with Vastra, Dorium & the Sontaran? What might have that debt been?

Anyway, I'd love to see Jack hanging out with the Doc for a brief period like he did in Series 1, though perhaps Barrowman would be too busy these days for an extended visit like that.

Why would he need to with Jack? Everything we've ever seen of their relationship has been consistent in that Jack likes the Doctor and wants to travel with him, or at the very least see him again.

It could very well have been removed from Jack's dead arm. It's like he stays dead, after all. He could have grown back to life and gone, "Who the hell stole my time bracelet?!"

I'm not so sure about that. He's immortal and he heals fast but its unclear whether he would regenerate an entire appendage if it were just the appendage that was severed.

In "Children of Earth," he is completely blown up, and we see him make a full recovery from nothing more than bone fragments. I have a feeling his arm would grow back.

Moffat didn't create Jack. He was just the writer who penned the episode of Doctor Who in which Jack was introduced.

My apologies then. I stand corrected.

I think the only problem with him turning up in "AGMGTW" is that then we might not have met such wonderful characters as Lady Vastra, and the Sontaran 'nurse'.

I imagine a scene prior to any such interchange, with an introduction of the two by The Doctor, in a scene that'd play out similar to that scene in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, where Ford Prefect introduces Arthur Dent to Galactic President Zaphod Beeblebrox, fully expecting the Earthman to be impressed, only to learn that the two have, unbelievably, already met before.

In fact, that might be a great running joke in the 50th Anniversary ep... have it turn out that just about everyone from the various eras of DW already knows Rory from the centuries he spent guarding Amy in the Pandorica.
