RIP Suzanne Somers

I watched the first episode of Step by Step last night in her memory. I actually laughed a few times, even though I have not seen the show in 30 years.

RIP

:( May she rest in peace.

Three's Company was a huge part of my childhood for some reason. I was always more into Joyce DeWitt and John Ritter, I think. But when I revisited the show as an adult I realized just how brilliant Suzanne Somers’ comedic timing was. It's a weird show to watch today, but overall I have mostly good feelings about it.

The blonde in the T-Bird in American Graffiti was a super sexy role. Like Candy Clark's Debbie, it was practically ethereal.

Even before her MAGNUM FORCE and GRAFFITI parts, she and Margot Kidder had an interesting run-in with Harlan Ellison during a feminist forum in Canada. He recounts it briefly in Volume One of THE GLASS TEAT. Ellison didn't particularly impress her. (By weird coincidence I randomly stumbled on this segment two days after her death.)
