Per his website, Robin Sachs has passed away suddenly. Robin played many genre roles, among them:

Sarris - Galaxy Quest
Ethan Rayne - Buffy, the Vampire Slayer
General Valen - Star Trek: Voyager
and several roles (Na'Kal, Hedronn, Na'Tok and Coplann) on Babylon 5.

He was a talented actor and recently had a guest role on Castle.

He had a great voice. I loved his far too few appearances of Buffy The Vampire Slayer as Giles' arch enemy, Ethan Rayne.

He voiced some film TV show over here in the UK back in the day. I had an argument with my mate over whether it was the same guy who was in Buffy. I lost : (

Damn. Ethan Rayne on Buffy, Sarris in Galaxy Quest, Zaeed in Mass Effect, and Harrowmont in Dragon Age. This guy was is loads of stuff that I love. Rest in peace.

General Valen - Star Trek: Voyager
and several roles (Na'Kal, Hedronn, Na'Tok and Coplann) on Babylon 5

I always wondered if it was intentional that he played a character named "Valen" on VOY after playing all those Minbari on B5. Especially since that VOY episode had so many other B5 references (him, Mike Vejar, apparently one of the raider ships from "Signs and Portents", etc.).

Aww, very sorry to hear that. :( I think I'll mosey on down to the Normandy's engineering deck and listen to some of Zaeed's rambling mercenary stories in his honor tonight. :)

Damn, that's too bad. :( I'm only really familiar with his roles in Buffy and Mass Effect, but I enjoyed his work in both series.

I didn't realize Zaeed, Saris and Ethan Raine were all the same guy. Very sad news indeed. RIP.

Sad news, 61 is no great age these days :( Actually met him once, well heard him speak at an event ina pub in London. Such a distinctive voice.
