RIP Robert Vaughan

A legend who will be sadly missed.

2016 has been a devastating year for my generation, taking a terrible toll on the celebrities I grew up with.

RIP. I have recently been re-watching The Man From Uncle and really enjoying the show for a second time. :(

Wow. I was SUCH a fan of Man From UNCLE.

Still...83. He had a good run. Well done, Mr. Solo.

Last of the Magnificent Seven. From Bullitt to Columbo to Battle Beyond the Stars to The A-Team, a very memorable actor in my life. RIP.

The Magnificent Seven, The Man from UNCLE, Bullit, Superman III, Battle Beyond the Stars ... Looking at the number of cult classics this man has been part of shows the richness of Vaughn's legacy.

An immensely watchable and very underrated actor (possibly because he made it look so easy), he was by all accounts also a fine human being. RIP Mr Vaughn.

The Man from UNCLE, The Magnificent Seven, Battle Beyond the Stars, The A-Team, Hustle...we've lost a lot of great people this year but, for me, this one hurts more than most :(

Best thing I saw on Twitter was someone suggesting that Albert Stroller was sitting on a beach somewhere drinking a cocktail and smiling :)

What a week for Napoleon Solo to die. My first thought was that it must have been of a broken heart.

Robert Vaughn was one of those uniquely talented, instantly recognizable, eminently watchable, and supremely personable character actors that enrich popular culture and seem harder and harder to come by. He and David McCallum (and Leo G Carroll) made The Man From UNCLE legendary. He was the epitome of heroic cool. Rest in peace, Mr Vaughn. :(
