Oh man, that's a shock. He was really good at everything he did, either the talk show with Kathy Lee or Kelly, or Who Wants to be a Millionaire. He really did set the standard for the TV Game Show host of that caliber. He will be missed.
I never watched his show but he generally seemed like a really funny guy. I always liked it when he'd turn up in the Yankees broadcast booth during a game.
I never watched his show either but knew of it of course. I mostly knew him through his apperances on SEINFELD and GET SMART.
In addition to his show, he was a funny foil for David Letterman and a good sport.
Didn't watch his show, but thanks to his many sitcom appearances, I knew about him since childhood, even without the internet. He certainly seemed like a nice guy who didn't take himself too seriously.
Agreed. And I loved hearing him tell stories from his early days in broadcasting.
I'm sure he's looking down on us from heaven right now. And if he's not looking, then to paraphrase Paul's father from Mad About You:
"Down here! Down here! HELLO, REGIS!"
